About UsWelcome to Myriad

Dr. Enrique Duprat

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, spent a good part of my early years in Chile later returning to Argentina where I finished my medical career. Had my Surgical training in New York, where I met my best friend that later married. Moved to Puerto Rico, where she was from, and after 13 years and two children, moved back to the United States. It is at his moment that my photography flourished and became a very important part of my life. After 20 years in USA, in 20013 we retired and moved back to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, away from the cold weather and looking forward to warm sunny days and a turquoise blue ocean.

Physician by profession and avid traveler, I have been interested in photography my whole life. What really made a big difference in my dedication was the advent of digital photography with all the enormous possibilities that opened up with it. Although I am barely scratching the surface of Photoshop, the little I know fascinates me. I shoot people, nature, still lives...everything looks interesting through my viewfinder. I still have a very long way to go but I am enjoying each and every step.

As a member of the Atlanta Photographic Society since 2004 have participated in their monthly photographic competitions, winning the following distinctions shown in my awards page.

I had my training in General Surgery in New York City and worked in private practice in Puerto Rico and later in the USA for over twenty years. Had the enriching experience of conducting surgical charity missions to Guatemala in three occasions, keeping beautiful memories and equally beautiful photographs of those adventures. I am at present partially retired and doing only some office surgery work.

I have been taking pictures all my life but became a serious amateur after the advent of digital photography. I have had several professional cameras mostly along the Nikon line. While in USA had a studio where I experimented with portraits and various other techniques. Photography has always been a hobby for me and despite holding a professional license, I have never exploited the commercial side of photography believing that when money is involved, it becomes more of an obligation and stops being a pleasurable hobby.

Avid Traveler

"The world is a book, those who don't travel only read one page". I have traveled as much as I could through all continents. Traveling is a very enriching experience and a big stimulus to my photography. When traveling I usually carry several cameras with different purposes and have a very extensive collection of photos from the multiple places I visited.

"A camera is an instrument that teaches you to see the world without a camera"
