I have learned what I know of photography by watching and studying from the great photographers: Henri Cartier Bresson, Steve Mc Curry, Margaret Bourke White, Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Annie Leibovitz, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Mapplethorpe, the fantastic street photography of the recently discovered Vivian Maier and many, many others.
Have joined photography clubs and forums where I was exposed to very different styles of photography, have participated for many years at the monthly competitions of the Atlanta Photographic Society hearing the critiques and learning from each judge the do's and don't's of composition.
Finally and most importantly, I have practiced and experimented shooting tens of thousands of photographs taking advantage of the marvel of digital photography that allow us to shoot as much as we want while being able to immediately see what we are doing well and what we are not.
